Chicago Bulls

  • ’18-19 Record: 22-60
  • ’18-19 Season Series: 2-1 (Hornets)
  • ’19-20 Advantage: Bulls

Despite winning only 22 games last season, I’m giving the Chicago Bulls the advantage over the Charlotte Hornets because they have filled multiple needs this off-season and appear to be ready to make a jump in the win department.

Last season, the Bulls desperately needed a veteran leader. They quickly snagged Thaddeus Young off the free agent market, and I think he is going to be a huge pickup for them, even if he does come off the bench. He’s one of the best leaders in the league and will help the younger players tremendously.

They also have a great collection of young talent with guys like Zach LaVine, Lauri Markkanen and Coby White in the fold, and a Head Coach in Jim Boylen who has gained the trust of his players over the past year.

While I do think the Hornets could absolutely take one or even two wins against the Bulls, I have to give the edge to the Bulls for right now. I think this is the year that all of the talent comes together for them.

Remember, the Hornets host the Bulls in the first game of the 2019-20 season.
