Cleveland Cavaliers

  • ’18-19 Record: 19-63
  • ’18-19 Season Series: 3-1 (Hornets)
  • ’19-20 Advantage: Hornets

We have our first advantage for the Charlotte Hornets, and it comes against the young Cleveland Cavaliers. These are two rebuilding teams, but the Hornets collection of veteran talent may give them the edge, as the Cavaliers are really young up-and-down the majority of the roster.

The young talent that Cleveland does have is very appealing. I’m very excited to see what Darius Garland and Collin Sexton can do together. However, they are still far away from truly competing, and this will be another year for them with very few wins.

I would see that Cleveland has better young talent than Charlotte, but Charlotte has more NBA ready talent to go with a mix of veterans. In the end, that extra experience may be what gives them the edge.

I don’t think it will be a season series sweep, but I do think the Charlotte Hornets can beat this Cavaliers squad as currently constructed.
