Detroit Pistons

  • ’18-19 Record: 41-41
  • ’18-19 Season Series: 4-0 (Hornets)
  • ’19-20 Advantage: Pistons

It’s a little surprising to go back and see that the Hornets swept the season series against the Pistons last season. After an under-the-radar off-season, I think the Pistons will be much more prepared for the Hornets in 2019-20, and they should have the upper-hand against them.

Detroit added Derrick Rose to the roster, which will give them a huge boost off the bench. They still have Blake Griffin, who was playing at an MVP level during last season, and Andre Drummond, who is entering a contract year and will look to ball out.

They certainly aren’t a top team in the Eastern Conference, but they are in the middle of the pack when it comes to playoff positioning. They have a good team, but not a great team. They are all-in on putting a winning team on the court, and I think you’ll see them improve upon that number of 41 wins from a season ago.

It wouldn’t surprise me if the Hornets take a game or two against Detroit, but a sweep is going to be tough to come by this time around.
