The Charlotte Hornets had some news this morning, as they will have a new-look purple Statement uniform for the 2019-20 season.
Ever since Nike began making uniforms for the NBA during the 2017-18 season, most teams have had plenty of really nice jersey combinations. The Charlotte Hornets are the lone team with Jordan Brand logos, and they’ve also been really nice over the past two seasons as well.
Earlier in the off-season, the Hornets unveiled a purple Classic uniform, and now today, they have unveiled a new purple Statement uniform. It’s a much cleaner look compared to previous seasons. The white “CHA” on the chest really stands out and catches your attention right away.

Man, the Charlotte Hornets may not have a lot of success during the 2019-20 season, but at least they will look good in the process of losing, right? The regular Association and Icon jerseys will be returning, along side these new beauties and a City uniform that is expected to be revealed during the fall.
During the last two seasons, Charlotte’s City uniforms have both been a black and teal look, and while both uniforms were top notch, it will be interesting to see if they go in a different direction this time around.
I’m glad to see more purple being used during the 2019-20 season. I’m looking forward to seeing these jerseys on the court.
Overall, this new Statement uniform is a pretty basic design, but the updated version is a much cleaner look compared to the older one. They call it the Statement uniform for a reason, so it’s nice to see the Hornets putting out something new this season for the fans.
It’s a new era for the Charlotte Hornets. The 2019-20 season will be all about player development and identity. It’s going to be fun watching the younger players grow after each game, and it will also be fun watching them play in these uniforms.
