Which newest Hornet will make the biggest jump during the 2019-20 season?

Caleb Baugher (Contributor): “A new Hornet to keep on your radar is the first round pick PJ Washington. The Hornets got a lot of production from their first round selection last year, Miles Bridges. With Bridges entering an important year with developing his leadership skills, watch for an even younger player to emerge out of the shadows.”

Brendan Boylan (Contributor): “Scary Terry has never averaged over 40% from the field in a single NBA season. The Hornets will need him to do that and more in 2019-20. There is no replacing the greatest player in the franchise’s history in Kemba Walker, and while that is not Rozier’s job, there will be a high level of expectations for the former Celtics guard. While he may not meet the expectation of every Hornets fan, expect Rozier’s numbers to jump in his first go as an NBA starting point guard.”

Elijah Edwards (Contributor): “Most likely Terry Rozier. He’s one of the top five most important players we have right now and as important as the point guard position is, he’ll likely be a major focus for this squad. He’s got big shoes to fill, however, but I think he’ll fit in nicely. It’ll be interesting to see what he can do since his playing time was somewhat limited in Boston.”

Noah Farrell (Contributor): “Terry Rozier is the big name that Charlotte acquired in the off-season. For good reason. He can do everything that you would want in a player. He plays hard on both ends of the court. His on-ball defense is something that we haven’t seen at the starting point guard spot. He has the chance to put up some good numbers seeing as he will likely be the number one scoring option this year.”

Scott Overbey (Contributor): “Easily Terry Rozier. He will finally be given keys to a franchise and I expect his scoring and assist numbers to double. Again, it may be with a bad FG%, however.”

Zachary Padmore (Site Expert): “After spending four years in Boston behind All-Stars in Isaiah Thomas and Kyrie Irving, Terry Rozier now has a starting job of his own, and he’ll run with that opportunity. During his career, he’s shown a lot of promise, especially during the 2018 Playoffs. The hope is that he can get back to that level and beyond now that he is a full-time starter. It wouldn’t surprise me at all if Rozier ends up doubling his 9.0 scoring average from the 2018-19 season.”

Giovanni Spillman (Site Expert): “The Hornets did not make too many signings during the off-season, but Terry Rozier is set to make the biggest jump. Rozier averaged great numbers in Boston, and I think his playoff experience and intense play will settle in nicely with the Hornets. Rozier will undoubtedly have a career year next season with the Hornets.”
