The 2020 NBA Draft will be important for the Hornets. Which prospect would you like to see in Charlotte?

Caleb Baugher (Contributor): “I’d like to see the Hornets select LaMelo Ball next year. A lot of hornet fans are already speculating a Cole Anthony selection because of Michael Jordan’s love for the Tar Heels. LaMelo would be a better pick for me because of his play overseas make his scoring ability different and his name should give the Hornets more attention nationally. I would be happy with Cole Anthony or another lottery pick in the top five.”

Brendan Boylan (Contributor): “This season is interesting in terms of how the Hornets move forward. The coaching staff has already said they plan on a youth movement this year, to see what they have on the roster in coming years. While it would appear that Rozier, Bridges and Bacon will be around for years to come with a prove it year for Monk, the Hornets have not had a steady low post threat over the last few seasons. In the 2020 NBA Draft, Charlotte’s attention may turn to freshman center James Wiseman from Memphis, a raw prospect who still needs to add weight, however a big time dunker and a guy who could stretch the floor add to the youth movement for Coach JB.”

Elijah Edwards (Contributor): “This may be some of my UNC bias showing, but I would love to see Cole Anthony in a Hornets uniform. He’s gifted athletically, is a solid shooter, and if he can prove that he can run an offense at UNC, then I think he would be a very nice potential floor leader for the Hornets. I’m not sure if he’s an instant starter, though. He could also stand to bulk up a little more.”

Noah Farrell (Contributor): “Honestly, I need some more time to evaluate how these prospects play in either college or overseas. LaMelo Ball has been gaining some traction as a legitimate NBA player. There are talks of him even going first overall. I like his game, but I am weary of his maturity and basketball discipline. I like James Wiseman as a prospect, too. We could use a nice young center with good potential.”

Scott Overbey (Contributor): “Cole Anthony and James Wiseman would bring a level of excitement and athleticism the Hornets desperately need.”

Zachary Padmore (Site Expert): “I’m a firm believer in the best player available approach when it comes to drafting, so the Charlotte Hornets should go with whoever is at the top of their draft board when the time comes, in my opinion. They will likely have a top pick in the 2020 NBA Draft, and could have a shot at Georgia’s Anthony Edwards, who I believe is the best player in this draft class. He’s a big, physical guard that plays both ends of the floor at a high level. Potential perennial All-Star.”

Giovanni Spillman (Site Expert): “It’s clear that the Hornets need an upgrade at the guard position. The Hornets could end up selecting a player who plays point guard, so that they have decent depth in their back court. Michael Jordan has a knack for picking up former Tar Heels, so I would like to see the Hornets take a look at Cole Anthony.”
