Coach James Borrego presented the jersey to J. Cole, and you can clearly see the number is Kemba Walker’s old one. Walker departed the Hornets during free agency this offseason and joined the Boston Celtics.
The number 15 was Cole’s number that he wore during his high school basketball days at Terry Sanford High School. Fans can tell in the video that J. Cole deeply appreciated the gift.
J. Cole has been an advocate for Hornets basketball, and fans may remember when he performed at halftime during the NBA All-Star game this year at the Spectrum Center in Charlotte.
Even though the Hornets are heading in a new direction without their two leading scorers from last season, J. Cole is still remaining faithful to his team. It’ll be exciting to see him at the games this season with his new jersey.
J. Cole could continue to hang around UNC this week, so it’ll be interesting to see if he starts putting up some shots in his new custom Hornets jersey.
The Charlotte Hornets are set to take on the Boston Celtics on Sunday for their first preseason game of the year. This will be the first time that the Hornets meet up with Kemba Walker in another jersey.
