With the regular season getting closer, the Charlotte Hornets are finally set to take on the Boston Celtics in their first preseason game of the season.

Another NBA season is on the horizon for the Charlotte Hornets, and the team will play its first preseason game on Sunday. The team is set to play the Boston Celtics in their first preseason game of the new season.

In this first preseason matchup, the Hornets will see a familiar face. Kemba Walker should be playing in Sunday’s game, and this will be the first game where Hornets fans will see him wearing another jersey.

The Hornets lost their two leading scorers from last season, and the team will need a lot of production from their young players. This game should have an impact on who’s a starter in the regular season.

Things to watch for:

As stated before, this will be the first time that the Hornets will get to face Kemba Walker this year. This game does not count, but fans will still get to see Walker in a Celtics jersey. Walker is set to return to the Spectrum Center on November 7th to face the Hornets.

Some key players will be out on Sunday, so look for players like Miles Bridges and PJ Washington to get an increased amount of playing time. The young players should have a significant impact on the outcome of this game.

This game will also be Terry Rozier’s first time playing against his former team in Boston. After signing with Charlotte, Rozier told the press that he wants to prove himself during this upcoming season. He has a chance to beat up on his former team, and silence doubters at the start of the preseason.

Keys to the game:

Since the Hornets have some key players not playing, the team will need to move the ball effectively. Earlier this week, Coach James Borrego told the media that he’s been impressed so far with the team’s ball movement.

If Kemba Walker plays a significant amount of minutes for Boston, then the team must find ways to limit his scoring. Hornets fans know that Walker loves to play isolation, so Coach Borrego will need his defense focused on Sunday night.

Overall, if the Hornets come out with effective ball movement and defensive consistency, the team should come away with their first preseason win of this year.
