Hurt: Marvin Williams

By no means did Marvin Williams play bad in the preseason, but the play of others, like Washington, will certainly impact his role and minutes early on into the 2019-20 season. Charlotte may prefer using him as a locker room presence more so than an in-game piece.

Williams played in three of the five preseason games, averaging 5.7 points and 4.0 rebounds while shooting 43 percent from three-point land. At this point in his career, you know what you’re going to get from him — a stretch four that plays both ends of the floor.

Even if he isn’t playing a lot of minutes on the court, he’ll still have a major role on this team as a leader. He will be a tremendous help for young players like PJ Washington and Miles Bridges, who are both expected to log major minutes at power forward.

I would love to see ‘Marvelous Marvin’ on a playoff contending team at this point in his career, and there’s a chance he’s able to join a contender at some point during the season if he is traded. One thing is certain, Williams will be a top-notch professional for this team both on and off the court until then.
