#1-10

Scouting Report. Anthony Edwards. 1. Pick Analysis. SG/PG. Georgia. player. 527

In my opinion, Anthony Edwards is the best player in this draft, and could be a tremendous get for the Charlotte Hornets. He’s big, strong, physical and plays with a ton of heart. He plays both ends of the floor at a high level and has a chance to be a perennial All-Star, regardless of where he lands.

Scouting Report. Pick Analysis. Cole Anthony. 2. 441. PG. North Carolina. player

Cole Anthony is a prospect that has many Charlotte Hornets fans excited. It would be nice to keep this future star in North Carolina with the Hornets. Anthony is a dynamic guard with a bag of tricks offensively. He recently set an ACC freshman debut record with 34 points.

In the past few months, LaMelo Ball has soared up draft boards and is a candidate to go first overall once June comes around. He’s playing in Australia against grown men, which will only help his development. He’s got limitless range, a sweet handle and elite size and vision for his position.

Memphis. James Wiseman. 451. Scouting Report. Pick Analysis. C. 4. player

James Wiseman rounds out what seems to be a pretty locked in top four prospects. He’s another guy who could go first overall, and the Hornets would surely love his rim protection and shooting touch in the front court. He’s a modern-day big man with enormous upside.

Scouting Report. Pick Analysis. PF. 5. 451. Memphis. Precious Achiuwa. player

From this point on, it’s sort of wide open in terms of rankings. I feel that James Wiseman’s teammate, Precious Achiuwa, has a chance to be a great player in his own right. He has size, length and athleticism to make a serious impact on both sides of the ball. I think Pascal Siakam is a great comparison for Achiuwa.

Another exciting guard that is playing this season in Australia is R.J. Hampton. The 6’4″ guard can score from all three areas on the court. He’s a dynamic athlete which causes trouble for defenses when he’s attacking the basket. He should be an easy lottery selection, and someone that could be a target for the Charlotte Hornets. Right now, he reminds me a lot of Chicago’s Coby White.

France. Theo Maledon. 20. Scouting Report. Pick Analysis. PG. 7. player

France’s Theo Maledon immediately catches your eyes with his size and length as a point guard. He’s 6’5″ and has a 6’8″ wingspan. He’s very quick and uses his length well when attacking the basket, as well as defensively. He’s still working on his shooting range, but he has a soft touch. Lots to like about this kid.

SF/PF. player. Pick Analysis. Washington. Jaden McDaniels. 8. 521. Scouting Report

Jaden McDaniels, the brother of Charlotte Hornets rookie, Jalen McDaniels, is a guy who should be an easy lottery selection. He has tremendous size and length, can defend multiple positions, handle the ball and finish around the rim. If he can add a consistent jumper to his game, watch out for him.

9. Scouting Report. Pick Analysis. Kentucky. Tyrese Maxey. player. 528. PG/SG

Tyrese Maxey has already caught the attention of scouts early into his college career after dropping 26 points in his debut. Maxey has unlimited range, a good handle and elite scoring ability. He can play either guard spot, too. His biggest weakness right now is his defense, but he has time to improve. Looking like a dynamic offensive piece.

Deni Avdija has scouts excited about his upside. Avdija is a point forward that can shoot, handle and play multiple positions on the court. He’s not a great defender, and hasn’t played against the best competition, but that shouldn’t hurt his stock too much. All-around wings are so coveted in basketball, and it’s clear that Avdija has the potential to be just that.
