During the Charlotte Hornets’ loss to Brooklyn last night, Devonte’ Graham accomplished a new feat, joining the likes of three NBA stars.

Throughout the first 14 games of the season, Devonte’ Graham has caught the attention of most people watching the Charlotte Hornets. He’s been the teams best player, and just keeps getting better and better.

With Kemba Walker leaving the Hornets over the summer, we knew Graham would have an expanded role, but I don’t think anyone expected him to be joining exclusive NBA clubs featuring three All-Star guards.

Last night in Brooklyn, Graham became the fourth different player in NBA history to record at least 50 made three-pointers and 100 assists during the team’s first 15 games of the regular season. The only other three players to accomplish this are Stephen Curry, Baron Davis and James Harden.

Yeah, that’s a pretty darn impressive accomplishment for the second-year guard.

I have a strong feeling that this won’t be the last impressive accomplishment for Graham during the season. With the way he’s going, he could be a finalist for multiple awards (Sixth man and Most Improved) at the end of the season.

Graham is averaging 18.2 points, 3.4 rebounds and 6.9 assists this season for the Charlotte Hornets, while primarily coming off the bench. He’s started the past few games, but we’ll see if that moves sticks.

Joining an exclusive group of players like Curry, Davis and Harden is no joke. We’re talking about two former MVP winners in Curry and Harden and a former All-Star in Davis. Graham, should take great pride in this achievement.

Graham did not have his best showing against the Nets last night, scoring 17 points on 5-16 shooting. He did have three rebounds and six assists, but the Hornets ended up on the losing end of this one.

He looks so much more confident as a shooter, and his ability to run a team has been evident since his days at Kansas. He may be small and not the best athlete, but Graham just finds a way to leave an impact on every game he’s played.

Graham has played himself firmly into Charlotte’s future plans. Being a second round pick, you have a lot to prove. Graham has proved that he belongs in the league and also proved that he can have a long, successful career in the process.

Since coming to Charlotte, General Manager Mitch Kupchak has done a tremendous job in the draft. Graham was a steal at 34th overall in 2018.

I’ll be the first to admit that I was wrong about Graham. We may be early into the season, but I never thought he would be this good. We’ll see if he can keep up this level of play, but to me, the Graham hype is very real and here to stay.

After a solid rookie season, Devonte’ Graham has taken giant leaps forward for the Charlotte Hornets. Being listed among the likes of NBA legends doesn’t just happen to anyone. I’m not saying Graham will ever reach that level, but still, it’s cool to see his hard work paying off.
