Charlotte Hornets face tough test in streaking Milwaukee Bucks
With two wins and some extra confidence under their belt, the Charlotte Hornets will run into the red-hot Milwaukee Bucks on Saturday night.
After dropping five straight games, the Charlotte Hornets (8-12) now own a two-game winning streak. They’ll look to make it a three-game winning streak tonight, but they’ll have their backs against the wall playing against the Milwaukee Bucks (16-3), who are on a ten-game winning streak.
One streak will be snapped during this game, with the Hornets being the major underdogs. The Bucks are in rhythm right now, clicking on all cylinders after a bit of a slow start to the regular season.
This will be a good test for the young Hornets. These are two teams that are, obviously, on different timetables, but maybe Charlotte can come away with an upset. We’ll get into how they can do that shortly.
Charlotte’s last game was a 110-107 win in Detroit. They are now eighth in the Eastern Conference. Milwaukee’s last game was a 119-110 win in Cleveland. They remain first in the Eastern Conference. This is the first of three match-ups this season.

Injury Report:
CHA:
Cody Zeller (Hip) – Probable
MIL:
Giannis Antetokounmpo (Back) – Probable
Thanasis Antetokounmpo (Illness) – Out
Eric Bledsoe (Knee) – Probable
Sterling Brown (Shoulder) – Out
George Hill (Back) – Probable
Things to watch for:
Cody Zeller was originally listed as probable for last night’s game at Detroit, but ended up not playing due to his hip issue. He must be close to a return, but if he can’t go, Bismack Biyombo will continue to see the bulk of the minutes at center.
Milwaukee leads the league in rebounding, while Charlotte is dead last in rebounding. That’s something that I expect will come into play during this match-up.
Keys to the game:
Well, for starters, the Charlotte Hornets are going to have to figure out a game plan when it comes to guarding Giannis Antetokounmpo. You can’t stop him, but you can hope to slow him down by keeping him on the perimeter rather and taking care of the ball.
Milwaukee is second in the league in three-point attempts per game at 40.3, hitting 34 percent of those triples. They don’t have many elite shooters, but they’re going to stick to their system and will heave from the perimeter. Charlotte must close out on shooters and force contested looks.
We’ll see if the Charlotte Hornets can extend this mini win-streak, but they’re running into one of the better teams in the league. If they can keep the score respectable and just hang around, who knows what could happen.
