Charlotte Hornets: 5 players who will challenge Devonte’ Graham for Most Improved
Jonathan Isaac
Now in his third season, Jonathan Isaac is beginning to put things together on the offensive end of the court. Defensively, he’s always been a monster, and he continues to improve in that area, too. He’s unlikely to win the Most Improved honors, but his improvement overall can’t be swept under the rug.
Isaac is averaging 12.4 points, 7.1 rebounds, 1.2 steals and 2.6 blocks for the Magic in 30.4 minutes. Last season, Isaac averaged 9.6 points, 5.5 rebounds and 1.3 blocks in 26.6 minutes. He’s played a bigger role in the offense and is doing a lot more ball handling and shooting for Orlando.
Like I said, it’s unlikely that his Most Improved campaign will top Graham and the others on this list, but Isaac has a chance to develop into something special if he keeps it up. He should be an easy candidate for an All-Defensive team and I personally believe that he has Defensive Player of the Year upside.
Isaac is going to be a terror for opposing players for many years to come. He has such an intriguing package of size, length and skill. He’s everything you want in a wing player in today’s game, and if the three-point shooting keeps improving, the sky is the limit for that young man.
