As the Charlotte Hornets continue their lengthy break from play, fans will get to watch Kemba Walker play on Christmas Day.

Out of every team in the NBA, the Charlotte Hornets are one of two teams who have never played a game on Christmas Day. The Hornets share this stat with the Memphis Grizzlies, a team that has also never played on this day.

While the Hornets have never played on Christmas, this also meant that the franchise’s all-time best player did not as well. For the first time in his career, Kemba Walker will get to play on Christmas Day.

This is sad for fans, as the Hornets will likely not get to play on this special day for a bit longer. While the Hornets will not be playing, fans can still watch their former Hornets captain play against the Toronto Raptors.

On Christmas Day, the Boston Celtics will take on the Raptors at 12 PM Eastern Time in Toronto. Since the Celtics are a team with a bigger market than Charlotte, this team has played on Christmas day often.

This is the first season where Kemba Walker is not a hornet, but he has settled in well in Boston. In his first season in Boston, Walker is averaging 22.6 points, 5.4 assists, and 4.1 rebounds per game.

As of now, these numbers do not match his numbers that he put up last year, but Walker is on one of the best teams that he’s ever played on in his career. Walker’s team currently sits with a 20-7 record, which is one of the top three records in the league.

However, Walker is also having an all-star caliber season, and fans may get to witness him be a starter in the all-star game for a second straight season. Walker was a three-time all-star when he was on the Hornets.

Kemba Walker and the Celtics have beaten the Hornets twice this season, and both teams will play one final game against each other on New Years Day.

With the Hornets doing nothing tomorrow, fans can watch Walker play Christmas afternoon. Walker has been hot as of late, and he may be poised for another huge game.

The Hornets will not play until Friday, and this game will be played at home against the Oklahoma City Thunder.
