The Charlotte Hornets continue to get closer to the trade deadline, and they are running out of time to come up with a deal. As of late, the Hornets have remained static around this time, not making trades and sticking with their roster.

If fans can remember, the last trade that the Hornets made was during the 2017-18 season; when the team sent Johnny O’Bryant to the New York Knicks for Willy Hernangomez.
This trade did not do much for the team, except giving them someone that they wanted in the 2016 draft. This is the second season where the Hornets have a new General Manager and Head Coach.
Last season the Hornets were in trade talks for Marc Gasol at the deadline, but a deal for the veteran could not be made. As the team is seeking young defensive talent, maybe they will have more of a chance this season.
Coach James Borrego has established that he is a defensive-minded coach, and I’m sure that he will be pushing Mitch Kupchak to go after defensive players.
