Houston Rockets
If there is a team that needs Marvin Williams, it is the Houston Rockets. The Rockets are known to be a three-point shooting team, and Williams could be a starter or bench player for their squad.
As the Rockets need to improve both of their forward positions in their starting lineup and bench, Williams could help them in many ways. As a hybrid player, Williams is able to play both forward positions and provide a lot of depth in their frontcourt.
The Rockets are currently averaging the most made threes per game with 15.2. Most of their threes are made by James Harden and Ben McLemore, so adding another three-point shooter could help free up even more space for shooters.
If Williams was traded to the Rockets, I think the team would improve in many areas. The Rockets need veteran leadership, so Williams is the perfect candidate that Harden and Russell Westbrook could rely on.
The only way that a trade between the Hornets and Rockets would work is if the teams can come up with a deal that financially works for both sides; the Rockets currently don’t have a lot of cap space to work with. Williams is making $15 million this season, and his contract is set to expire in the offseason.
Since Williams has proved that he can be a reliable shooter from three and the free-throw line, I think teams like the Rockets will value him more.
