Even without Kemba Walker, the Charlotte Hornets will have three players represent them during All-Star weekend this year.

While having a tough season so far, Charlotte Hornets fans will have something to look forward to in the coming weeks. For the first time in franchise history, the Hornets will have three players play in the Rising Stars game.

The players selected from the Hornets were Devonte’ Graham, PJ Washington, and Miles Bridges; all players are starters. The three players will represent the Hornets together on the U.S. team.

More from Swarm and Sting

The Hornets have not had a player participate in the Rising Stars Game since Frank Kaminsky did in 2016. Besides the three newly selected Hornets, the franchise has only had twelve players in the team’s history who have been selected to play in the game.

Devonte’ Graham was the only player on the Hornets roster who was a no-brainer for this selection, as he’s averaging 18.2 points and 7.6 assists per game. He’s having a career season and is also a top candidate for the Most Improved Player Award.

P.J Washington is having a terrific rookie season; he’s averaging 12.2 points and 5.3 rebounds per game. Washington ranks in the top-10 in almost every statistical category among rookies this season.

Just like Graham, Miles Bridges is playing in his second season. He’s made strides from last season by averaging 12.2 points and 5.4 rebounds per game. Bridges was also a participant in the Dunk Contest last year for the Hornets.

These three players have a good season so far, and this must make Coach James Borrego pleased with his young talent. Hornets fans can rejoice for these players being selected, but there may be more good news coming.

There has not been any confirmation to if Bridges will be in the dunk contest yet this year, but Graham could be an easy selection for the Three-Point Contest. Graham is currently in the top-4 in made three-pointers this season.

The NBA’s Rising Star game will take place on February 14th at 7 P.M. Eastern Time. Fans should look forward to seeing these three players play alongside some of the league’s most talented young players.
