Charlotte Hornets: Trade rumors and deadline guide

The NBA trade deadline is Thursday, and the Charlotte Hornets have a few options that they can go with.

With the trade deadline occurring in under ten hours, the Charlotte Hornets are beginning to run out of time to make a deal. As of late, the Hornets have generally waited until the day of the deadline to make a trade.

The Hornets have not made a trade since 2018, and that was on the day of the deadline. Last season, the Hornets were linked to many possible trades, but the team simply ran out of time to get a deal together.

This article will act as a guide on the trade rumors that we have heard so far regarding the Charlotte Hornets. Without further ado, this is what we know so far.

Is the Andre Drummond trade still alive?

For a while now, the Hornets have been linked to a trade regarding Andre Drummond since last season. In January, Sean Deveney of heavy.com reported that the Hornets were still interested in Drummond.

Talks regarding Drummond have been going on forever now, but it’s important to note that he’s having a career season this year.

Dallas Mavericks Interested in Michael Kidd-Gilchrist

On January 31st, Brad Townsend of Sports Day reported that the Dallas Mavericks were interested in Michael Kidd-Gilchrist. The Mavericks have “knicked tires” on Kidd-Gilchrist, and they are seeking a defensive forward.

As of late, rumors regarding a Kidd-Gilchrist trade have gone quiet, but Kidd-Gilchrist still seems available to trade at the deadline.

Hornets have interest in Bogdan Bogdanovic

On Monday, ESPN reported that the Hornets were one of two teams that were interested in Bogdan Bogdanovic. As of now, the only two teams that are interested in Bogdanovic are the Hornets and Los Angeles Lakers.

Since this rumor arose, it has not been mentioned again. Even though the interest went quiet, that does not mean that the Hornets are no longer interested.

Hornets linked to Julius Randle trade

This is the most recent rumor that has surfaced about the Hornets. On Monday night, Ian Begley reported that the Hornets were exploring a possible deal with the New York Knicks for Julius Randle.

Rumors surrounding this deal indicated that Terry Rozier and Malik Monk were mentioned in a trade that would send them to the Knicks in exchange for Julius Randle and Dennis Smith Jr. It’s important to note that Mitch Kupchak has strong ties with Randle.
