Charlotte Hornets: Miles Bridges wins Rising Stars MVP Award
On the first day of All-Star weekend, the Charlotte Hornets had a player win the Rising Stars MVP Award.
After a quiet first half, the Charlotte Hornets’ players came out and dominated in the second half of the Rising Stars Game. The biggest surprise was the play from Miles Bridges, who won the Rising Stars MVP Award.
At the half, Bridges tweeted something to let people know he was serious; the tweet said: “alright bet.” When he got to play in the second half, he came out by making three impressive threes and a couple of impressive dunks.

The most impressive move by Bridges in the game was when he was able to throw down the one-handed self alley-oop to himself with his offhand. This dunk was easily the best one of the game. This game has to make fans wonder why he’s not in the Dunk Contest.
With this MVP Award, Bridges is the first player in team history to win the award in the Rising Stars Game. There have only been twelve players in Hornets’ history to play in this game.
In the end, Team USA won 151-131 with the help of the impressive play from Bridges, Devonte’ Graham, and PJ Washington. The Hornets’ Rising Star MVP finished the game with 20 points, five assists, five rebounds, and three steals.
This game should help Bridges’ play moving forward while also giving him even more confidence. So far this season, Bridges has started in all but one game, and he’s averaged 13.0 points and 5.5 rebounds per game.
The Hornets currently sit with an 18-36 record, and the team is the 11th team in the Eastern Conference standings. While the Hornets have not given fans much to look forward to, Bridges’ play from the Rising Stars Game should get fans excited.
Moving forward, Devonte’ Graham will participate in the Three-Point Contest on Saturday night. After this, the Hornets will not take part in any more events during All-Star weekend.
