Charlotte Hornets: Pre All-Star Game Recap, Miles Bridges wins MVP
With the events prior to the NBA All-Star game over, Charlotte Hornets fans will not see any more current roster players participating.
Friday and Saturday were fun for Charlotte Hornets fans, as they got to watch their hometown players participate alongside other talents. The only thing left now is the NBA All-Star game on Sunday.
The only player that fans may want to watch on Sunday is Kemba Walker, who is the best Hornet of all-time. Walker has led the Boston Celtics to a 38-16 so far, making this one of the best teams he’s been a part of.

With the league ready to unveil this year’s All-Star game, fans can expect the league to pay a huge tribute to Kobe Bryant. On Saturday, Commissioner Adam Silver announced that the All-Star MVP trophy would be renamed to honor Bryant.
So with the All-Star game ready to commence, here’s what has happened so far this weekend with Charlotte’s players:
Rising Stars Game
Three Hornets players got to participate in this game, and it ended with a surprise for all fans. After his terrific play and some huge dunks, Miles Bridges was named the Rising Stars MVP.
Devonte’ Graham and PJ Washington also played well in this game, and both players were right behind Bridges, as the three led a huge scoring run for Team USA. This game was huge, and it showcased what all three could do at one of the highest levels of their career so far.
Three-Point Contest
This contest came as a letdown, as Devonte’ Graham was eliminated in the first round. Graham only got 18 points, but he did finish with more points than Trae Young. In the end, Buddy Hield would take home the trophy
Devonte’ Graham is in the top-5 in threes made this with 190. Graham was in second place for a majority of the season before being passed by Damian Lillard.
All-Star weekend has been a success so far for the NBA. Other award winners consisted of Bam Adebayo (Skills Contest) and Derrick Jones Jr, (Dunk Contest).
Following All-Star weekend, the Hornets will next play on February 20th against the Chicago Bulls on the road.
