Charlotte Hornets: Can Devonte’ Graham make over 260 three-pointers?
One of the biggest stories of this season for the Charlotte Hornets has been the incredible shooting from Devonte’ Graham.
Heading into this season, the Charlotte Hornets did not know what they had after they lost Kemba Walker in the offseason. Many could not have imagined that the team’s 2018 second-round pick would have a breakout season.
If you’ve kept up with the Hornets, then you know that Devonte’ Graham has proven that he’s a shooter. The second-year player has opened up the eyes of many with his stellar shooting from behind the arc.

His shooting has caught national attention, and it was enough to earn him a shot to be in the Three-Point Contest during All-Star weekend. Even though he lost in the first round with 18 points, this was still a great experience for Graham.
Graham is averaging 18.1 points and 7.8 assists per game, while also making 3.5 three-pointers per game. In just 54 games played, Graham has already made 190 three-pointers.
At the rate that Graham is making threes, he could be poised to break Kemba Walker’s record for threes made in a season. With the average amount of threes that Graham makes per game, he could potentially finish the season with 288 three-pointers.
That amount of three-pointers would shatter Walker’s old record and would crown Graham as the Hornets’ all-time best three-point shooter in a season. This will be a hard accomplishment, but Graham already has 9 games where he’s made six or more three-pointers.
Graham also tied Kemba Walker’s franchise record for three-pointers made in a game with ten. makes Graham made those ten threes in the Hornets’ win against the Golden State Warriors in early December.
Graham’s newfound ability to shoot threes is helping him to be one of the fastest players to reach 300 career made three-pointers. If not this season, Graham could pass Frank Kaminsky and Matt Carroll next season in career threes with the Hornets; both are tied with 338 career threes.
Passing both of these players would make Devonte’ Graham the Hornets’ 9th all-time player in career three-pointers made. As a 25-year old guard, Graham has a lot of potential to shatter a few franchise records.
If Graham continues what he has been doing all season, he could be a front-runner for the Most Improved Player Award.
