1. Onyeka Okongwu – USC

Heading into March Madness, Onyeka Okongwu is one of my favorite prospects to watch. Okongwu’s team is eligible for both tournaments, and his team will look for him to lead them during March.

As a major lottery prospect, all eyes will be on Okongwu, as he plays in his first college tournaments. Okongwu has started in 27 games this season, and he’s a big reason why his team is 21-9.

So far this season, Onyeka Okongwu has averaged 16.2 points, 8.7 rebounds, and 2.7 blocks per game. He’s proved to many that he can score in the post while also getting back and playing well on defense.

Okongwu is 6’9 and he could potentially grow a few more inches. While he lacks size at the center spot now, he is making up for it which his impressive post play. Okongwu is currently shooting 62% on two-point shots; his two-point shots are a big part of his game.

There will be a lot of challenges that he will face in March, but his ability to play well on defense will be something a lot of scouts look at. Paint defense has been something the Hornets have lacked, and Okongwu could open the team’s eyes if he plays great defense in the tournaments.

Next. A few players that the Hornets could sign. dark

March Madness will be fun to watch this season, and the Hornets could take a productive college prospect that outperforms many in March. It should be interesting to see which one of these prospects plays the best in the tournaments.
