As the Charlotte Hornets are 0-3 on their current homestand, the team will seek to come away with at least one win on Saturday night on the series.

The Charlotte Hornets (21-41) go into Saturday after losing two-consecutive games that the team had the chance to win in the closing stages. On Saturday night, the Hornets will face off against the Houston Rockets (39-22) for the final time this season.

When these two teams played last time, the Hornets looked as if they were in control in the early stages. However, weak defense from the Hornets would cause them to lose 125-110.

Going into this game, the Hornets’ previous matchup resulted in a 114-112 home loss to the Denver Nuggets, while the Rockets’ final game resulted in a 120-105 home loss to the Los Angeles Clippers.

Injury Report:

CHA:

None

HOU:

Russell Westbrook – Rest (Out)

Eric Gordon – Knee (Out)

Things to watch:

The Hornets have had the chance to win their final three games, but the team has not been able to perform in the clutch. The Hornets have held sizable leads, but the team cannot play an entire defensive game.

This will be the second time that Russell Westbrook does not play against the Hornets this season. Westbrook will not play in this game, as he will be resting for the Rockets’ game on Sunday.

Keys to the game:

Just like any other game against the Rockets, the Hornets must get the ball out of James Harden’s hand as much as possible. When Harden gets hot, he will take over a game against any team.

The Rockets are a small team, as they do not have a true center. The Hornets must take advantage of this by attacking the paint as much as possible. The Hornets have a variety of centers that should play well in this game because of the height advantages.

If the Hornets lose this game, they may drop to the 11th spot in the Eastern Conference standings, while winning it will keep them idle where they are. After losing their last three games, this game will test the will of this young Hornets team.
