Picks 11-14

player. 84. Scouting Report. Duke. Vernon Carey Jr.. 11. Pick Analysis. PF/C

This young Sacramento Kings team is lacking a part position that could propel them to the playoffs, as drafting a center may help them. I see the Kings going after Vernon Carey Jr. and having two starting Duke alumni in their frontcourt.

Carey has a lot of potential, and he has played well for Duke this season. He has great length, and he can score efficiently from almost anywhere on the court. With what Carey can do on offense, I think teams will also take notice of his ability to be a consistent rim protector.

Carey is versatile, and he’s able to play both frontcourt positions. I foresee a productive frontcourt if the Kings have Vernon Carey Jr. and Marvin Bagley III both start together.

29. Scouting Report. Pick Analysis. Tyrese Haliburton. player. PG. Iowa State. 12

The San Antonio Spurs have a lot of money being put on their payroll, and the only way to save this team is through the draft. The Spurs are in need of a productive backcourt member.

The Spurs are a defensive team with two championship hungry veterans on the roster. Drafting a point guard will not hurt, as the Spurs need one.

If the Spurs end up missing the postseason, they will be able to select a productive guard in the lottery. Since the Spurs are a defensive team, I only see it fit that they draft Tyrese Haliburton.

Haliburton is a player who has exhibited defensive potential, while also proving that he can be an efficient passer. His offensive game could use some polishing, but he has great vision as a point guard.

Jaden McDaniels. 13. Pick Analysis. SF/PF. Washington. player. 69. Scouting Report

Moving toward the future, the New Orleans Pelicans will be a team on the rise. The Pelicans have gotten so much production from Zion Williamson, and the team will be looking to find him a running mate.

As Brandon Ingram hits free agency, the Pelicans will need to draft an insurance option if they lose him. The Pelicans have the potential to draft a young forward that could bring energy to New Orleans.

If the Pelicans land at this spot, then Jaden McDaniels will be their best option. McDaniels is the brother of Hornets’ rookie Jalen McDaniels. Jaden McDaniels has great size for his position and has a lot of potential to develop under the right coach.

McDaniels has a lot of learning to do when he joins the league, but teams should like his ability to run the floor and score on fastbreak opportunities.

Auburn. Scouting Report. Pick Analysis. SF. Isaac Okoro. 14. player. 34

The Portland Trail Blazers have not been in the lottery in a while, so this draft will be important for them. With recent acquisitions, this season has been a disappointment to Trail Blazer fans, as the team needs more talent.

Isaac Okoro may be a prospect to watch, as he’s able to assist Portland in many ways. As defense has been an issue, Okoro has proved that he can be a consistent defender, while also being athletic enough to fit in with the Trail Blazers’ transition offense.

Next. Is there reason to be excited for the Charlotte Hornets’ off-season?. dark

Okoro has a raw offensive game that can be developed under the right coach. I see him being a consistent rotational member if drafted at this spot. Whatever team gets him will be getting a defender who can guard on a nightly basis.
