Where does the duo of Rozier and Graham rank among the best duos in Charlotte Hornets history?
With all the great tandems the Hornets have had over the years, is it too early to put Terry Rozier and Devonte’ Graham up there?
Frankly, yes, it is too early to put them among the players I’ve named, but man, wouldn’t it be fun if they played well enough together to make a case for the top five? Of course, it would. If any basketball city is in need of a shot to give the fans something to feel better about, it’s Charlotte.
Perhaps that will happen at some point in the next couple of seasons, but right now, things are looking bleak for the guys in purple and teal. At the moment, all fans can cling to is hope and I feel like those two players best represent that hope. That’s not to say it’s all bad. There is potential in the Martin twins and Miles Bridges and P.J. Washington have shown some things, but currently, all eyes are on the two little guys.
In the coming weeks or months, the front office could possibly work itself out of this mess in which they find themselves, and get the two the help they need. Then again, perhaps they both can take a huge step together and be the next CJ McCollum and Damian Lillard. Stranger things have happened, right?
In any case, if the pair can keep up this pace and lead the team to a playoff berth or two and potentially a first-round win, which the team hasn’t done since the beginning of the millennia, they could mark their names in the annals of Charlotte Hornets history.
Given their history with talented pairs, now is about the time for one to show up. Here’s hoping it’s all worth the wait.
