The Charlotte Hornets have had a lot of great memories, but which moment was the greatest in franchise history?

With not a lot to do, it’s nice to look back at what the Charlotte Hornets have done over the years. With all of these great moments that fans have experienced, which one of them is the greatest in franchise history?

You may remember Alonzo Mourning hitting the game-winner against the Boston Celtics in the playoffs, the time Kemba Walker was drafted, the comeback win by the Hornets in their first game back in Charlotte, and even the 60-point game that Walker had.

On Monday night, we did a Twitter poll, and the results were not surprising. In this poll, 298 fans participated, and 35% of them chose Kemba Walker’s 60-point game as the best moment in franchise history.

Coming in behind Walker’s moment was the Hornets’ comeback win in their first game back in Charlotte; this was almost tied with Mourning’s game-winner in the Hornets’ playoff series against the Celtics.

Walker’s 60-point game was a special night for fans. While the Hornets did not win, Walker did something no Hornet player had ever done; he was the first player in franchise history to score 60 points in a game.

However, this was no normal game, as it was Classic Night; the Hornets featured their throwback home jerseys and classic court. Many of the Hornets’ former greats were also in attendance, and Walker made sure to give them a show.

Nevertheless, this was a game that all fans could appreciate. Since then, the Hornets have parted ways with Walker, as he’s now currently a member of the Boston Celtics. With him gone, his 60-point game is one of the biggest things fans will remember him for.
