The later rounds in the tournament really do have some powerhouse matchups. Will there be any upsets?

We’re past the first round and things are only going to heat up even further. Will everyone’s picks make it to the next round? Time to find out.

1. Kemba Walker vs 9. Muggsy Bogues (87.6% – 12.4%)

Two of the most beloved players in Charlotte Hornets history going at it here, but Kemba’s importance and effect on the team and Charlotte easily take him to the win here. Poor Muggsy. We still love you, buddy.

2. Larry Johnson vs 7. Glen Rice (87.2% – 12.8%)

Two of the bigger names in Charlotte Hornets history battle it out in this one, but L.J. takes it in surprisingly close fashion. Fans have either forgotten how important Rice was to some of the playoff runs in the ’90s, or the Hornets’ first-ever All-Star truly is legit. I’m taking column B.

3. Alonzo Mourning vs 6. Gerald Wallace (66.5% – 33.5%)

I thought this one would be closer, especially since Mourning isn’t seen in the best light in some fans’ eyes, but he was able to take down Wallace with ample ease. Those two might be the most beloved Charlotte players to ever just play a handful of years in the Queen City.

4. Dell Curry vs 12. Al Jefferson (69.8% – 30.2%)

There was a part of me that thought maybe Big Al could move on, but the fans know just how important Dell is to the culture of Charlotte and with good reason. Part of that may just be due to his son, Steph Curry, but hey, we’ll pretend that’s only a small part of it.

And that will do it for the second round. There were no upsets, but our Twitter audience all picked the right ones, in my humble opinion. Next up are the semifinals and then the finals to crown who is the greatest Charlotte player ever.
