The Charlotte Hornets’ Must-Watch Games of the 2020 Season

Double Overtime Thriller Against Atlanta
Charlotte Hornets @ Atlanta Hawks | March 9, 2020
Last but not least comes the one and only loss to make this list. This was the second to last game of the Hornet’s season before play was suspended. This battle against the Atlanta Hawks may be the most exciting game on the entire list, even if knowing the result will kill any suspense.
The two teams battled well past regulation, and although the Hornets lost in the end, they improved their draft position against a competitor nearby in the standings, while still showing some reason to invest in the team’s future.
Terry Rozier had a momentous game. Rozier scored a career-high 40 points, making an insane eight 3-pointers. Rozier almost ended the game during the first overtime, but a coach’s challenge by Hawks Coach Lloyd Pierce reversed a foul on Rozier by Treveon Graham. Rozier commented, “It doesn’t really matter what I think. I’ve got to watch what I say a little bit. Obviously, I don’t agree with it. I thought I was going to shoot two free throws.” It was a shame Rozier could not top off his career night with a win.
Devonte’ Graham also had a great showing. Graham logged 27 points and 10 assists in a double-double. Graham’s court vision and ball-handling skills continued to develop as he took over more and more of the play-making responsibility for the team. Along with that, he also racked up 4 steals.
In a league where there are no moral victories, this was a moral victory for fans of the Hornets and of the NBA alike.
