Charlotte Hornets: Team and players react to NFL Draft
With basketball still not being played, Charlotte Hornets fans have been able to watch a little of the NFL Draft.
During these troubling times, it’s been hard for sports fans to be satisfied, as sports are still canceled. However, Charlotte Hornets fans have been able to see a little lately with some player drafts.
Last week, the WNBA held its virtual draft, which turned out to be a huge success. A week later, on 4/23, the NFL would continue with its draft, despite having issues with the virtual system a week earlier.

Since football and basketball are two different sports, it’s interesting to see different professional athletes interact. During the NFL Draft, the Hornets and some of their players have reacted to various picks.
On Thursday, the Hornets welcomed Carolina Panthers’ first-round pick, Derrick Brown, on Twitter. Brown is a defensive tackle that was selected by the Panthers with the 7th pick in the draft.
PJ Washington was a player that reacted to many drafts picks on Twitter. Washington shared tweets about Jeff Okudah, Cesar Ruiz, and one about his former Kentucky Wildcats classmate Lynn Bowden Jr.
Former UNC star Joel Berry, who’s a member of the Greensboro Swarm, tweeted out a good luck message to many draftees as well. Berry averaged 8.0 points and 2.1 assists per game this season with the Swarm.
Another player to wish draftees luck on draft day was Miles Bridges. In his tweet, Bridges said, “Congrats to everybody getting drafted today.”
Many players have not made comments yet, but they could before the draft is up. Fans should expect more news from the NBA about future events soon in the coming weeks.
