Moving into next season should be interesting for the Charlotte Hornets and their fans.

While we wait for more news to trickle down from the NBA offices, the Charlotte Hornets have a lot of planning to do. At this time next year, this team could look very similar or very, very different depending on what the front office has in store.

Either way, this is a growing team and will likely see many changes until a solid nucleus of players is discovered that can compete in the Eastern Conference. There are some nice building blocks already in place.

All the team needs to do is to find some continuity among their young core and to compliment them with a nice mix of veterans and role players who fill distinct roles.

This could be a fascinating team to watch over the next few years as they go from one of the weaker teams in the league to possibly a powerhouse. That’s what we as fans are all hoping, anyway.

There’s a lot of work to do for the Hornets’ front office, but the fans’ patience could be rewarded in as little as two to three years, if the team can finally start making the right moves, that is. Here’s hoping it pays off sooner, rather than later.
