Projecting the Charlotte Hornets’ 2021 starting shooting guard: Devonte’ Graham

Just like Terry Rozier, having James Wiseman would also help take a lot of Devonte’ Graham, who is the team’s leading scorer. As fans know, Graham was easily the league’s most improved player following his sophomore season.

Graham finished his 2019-20 season by averaging 18.2 points and 7.5 assists per game. With the ability to pass the ball efficiently, Graham and Wiseman would work well together in many pick-and-roll situations.

With a stronger option at center, this would allow Graham to work more with his center on offense. The team currently needs more defense, so pairing him with Charlotte’s guards would not be a bad option.

Graham has also proved that he can be an elite three-point shooter. During this season, he managed to knock down 218 three-pointers; he was on track to break Kemba Walker’s record for three-pointers in a season. With Graham taking a lot of threes, it wouldn’t be bad to make sure that Graham has someone who can efficiently rebound missed shots.

As a team that has started playing at a higher pace, the Hornets need a center who can rebound missed shots. Graham missed his share of shots this season, and more second-chance point opportunities would’ve helped the team.
