Projecting the Charlotte Hornets’ 2021 starting small forward: Miles Bridges

In his first two professional seasons, Miles Bridges has continued to show promise with his development. After only starting in 25 games as a rookie, Bridges closed out the 2019-20 season by starting in 64.

Bridges finished his sophomore season by averaging 13.0 points and 5.6 rebounds per game, while also winning the MVP Award in the Rising Stars Game. With what Bridges has done in his first two seasons, he’s proved how much potential he has.

I’m unsure how James Wiseman would affect Bridges’ play, but I do know that it would allow Bridges to have more space when driving to the rim for a basket. Wiseman has the ability to stretch the floor in some cases, so Bridges will need more space in the paint.

The Hornets will need someone who can help defensively next season. Bridges finished this season with a Defensive Box Plus/Minus of -1.0. There is room for Bridges to improve on defense, so having Wiseman would assist with forwards or guards who cut backdoor to the rim.
