Charlotte Hornets: 3 reasons why team will go to the playoffs next season
After an unsuccessful season, the Charlotte Hornets will have a lot to look forward to heading into next season.
Heading into next season, the Charlotte Hornets should be in a stronger place than how they were this year. Even when the team lost their star player in free agency, the Hornets still had many of their young players step up.
Heading into the 2019-20 season, the Hornets did not make many moves. The only move they made was the sign-and-trade to send Kemba Walker to the Boston Celtics to receive Terry Rozier. However, the team did make some noise in the NBA Draft.

As of now, the most successful part of last season was the draft. The Hornets closed out the 2019 draft by selecting PJ Washington in the lottery, while also drafting Cody Martin and Jalen McDaniels in the second round.
Each rookie played extremely well in their season, and they all made a good impression on Coach James Borrego. Toward the end of the season, Hornets fans saw the younger players receiving a lot more playing time.
Moreover, everyone knows the COVID-19 pandemic was a huge reason the Hornets had to end their season early. The team finished the 2019-20 season with a record of 23-42. Sadly, Charlotte was not one of the twenty-two teams selected to finish their season in Orlando, Florida.
Even with the season ending early, the team still managed to end the season on a good note with their comeback win over the Miami Heat. Because of that win and the way the team played in their previous five games, fans should be excited about the 2020-21 season.
In this article, we will cover three reasons why you can expect the Hornets to be a playoff team next season.
