What made this game significant to Hornets fans, was the fact that Kemba Walker led the Celtics to the clutch victory. In the elimination game, Walker dropped 32 points and shot 8/15 from the floor.
However, this win marked a huge milestone for Walker, as he won his first-ever playoff series. During his eight seasons in Charlotte, Walker only won a total of three playoff games. In his first season in Boston, Walker managed to win four and sweep a team.
During Walker’s first season in Boston, he managed to average 20.4 points and 4.8 assists per game. Walker then cranked up his game in the playoffs by averaging 24.2 points and 3.75 assists per game.
With Walker’s victory over the 76ers, the Celtics will be expected to face the Toronto Raptors in their second playoff series. Just like Boston, the Raptors also managed to sweep their opponent in the first round.
Fans can expect to see these two teams back in action later this week. The official date for this second-round game should be announced soon.
Kemba Walker is entering uncharted territory as he prepares to play in a second playoff series. Will Hornets fans see Walker progress even further into the playoffs?
