One of the main reasons that Jones Jr. may not re-sign with the Miami Heat, was because of the minutes he received during the finals. He only received nine minutes in the final loss that the Heat picked up.
During his 6th professional season, Jones Jr. averaged a career-high 8.5 points and 3.9 rebounds per game. Jones Jr. was also the 2020 NBA Slam Dunk Contest winner, beating Orlando’s Aaron Gordon.
For Hornets fans, Jones Jr. seems like a familiar name due to the number of times that he has played against Charlotte. He’s played against the Hornets eight times so far in his career.
Jones Jr. is a young player that can still give a team some good minutes. If he joined Charlotte, it would really shake up Coach James Borrego’s current rotation. At this point in time, the Hornets have over three forwards on the team.
The Charlotte Hornets and their fans have a lot to look forward to in the coming months. Fans can expect offseason activities to begin in November, with the season possibly following in the near future.
