Heading into free agency, the Charlotte Hornets will have quite a few people that they can target.

The Charlotte Hornets should be surprisingly optimistic for a team that extended its playoff drought. The team shed some cap space by waiving Michael Kidd-Gilchrist and Marvin Williams before the trade deadline, leaving Nicolas Batum and Terry Rozier as the only big contracts still on the books.

With a budding star like Devonte’ Graham coming off a breakout year and the promising rookie campaign of P.J. Washington last season, there is something to build on in the Queen City.

Undoubtedly the Hornets will add another (hopeful) cornerstone piece with the third pick in the upcoming draft, but there is still room to add in free agency.

After one of the most unpredictable seasons in league history, predicting what will happen this offseason is foolhardy.

So let’s hedge our bets here by breaking down who the realistic targets are, and who is a longshot and who the Hornets have no chance at.
