The Charlotte Hornets are in a good position in this year’s NBA draft.

Drawing the 3rd pick- albeit in a weaker draft- was a change of fortune in a good way for a franchise that has needed it for so long. The past four seasons have been almost everything but successful for the Hornets, and with two of the few bright spots in Kemba Walker and Jeremy Lamb leaving for two different Eastern Conference foes this last offseason, things were looking even bleaker in Buzz City.

However, after a season full of player growth, surprising competitiveness against tough teams and in clutch situations, and breakout seasons from young players(like Devonte’ Graham), coupled with the aforementioned lottery luck, and the future is looking much brighter in Buzz City. Now to keep this run of good happenings going, the Hornets must not do anything to screw up this draft. Now, without getting too specific, I am going to be listing some things the Hornets should do and others they should refrain from in this draft. While none of these are too specific, they are things that are important. The Hornets cannot afford to make mistakes to reverse their fortunes.
