Bob Cousy is often forgotten due to the era that he played. Cousy is one of the greatest players of all-time and even though he played in a different decade, his effect on the game should not be forgotten. In the 1950 NBA draft, Cousy was selected by the Tri-State Blackhawks, he didn’t report to practice and was let go by the team before being picked up by the Boston Celtics.

Cousy averaged 21 points but even more impressively he averaged nearly eight assists per game in his career. Cousy led the league in assists a total of eight times and was the first great playmaker and played a part in creating the blueprint of a traditional point guard.

Cousy won with the Boston Celtics in a total of six NBA Championships and was the 1956 MVP of the league. Cousy is extremely underrated as an NBA legend and his accolades and stats clearly support the claim that he is deserving of being on this list.
