Pete Maravich was drafted in 1970 by the Atlanta Hawks, where he immediately took the league by storm as a rookie. For the Hawks in his first season, Maravich averaged 23 points, four assists and three rebounds per game. Needless to say, his impact was extraordinary in The Big Peach.

Maravich continued his career for the New Orleans Jazz with a career-high of 31 points per game. Maravich was a five-time All-Star with five All-NBA appearances and finished third in MVP voting in the 1976 season.

Maravich was years ahead of his time with an explosive offense game and amazing playmaking abilities. Maravich is one of the best playmakers in NBA history and the two picks before him were mistakes compared to Maravich’s greatness.
