Dominique Wilkins was drafted by the Atlanta Hawks in 1982, where he immediately averaged 17 points per game as a rookie. The team needed a player to change the culture of Hawk basketball and Wilkins did just that in his long tenure there. Wilkins was phenomenal in college and passing on him was ludicrous and the Hawks are genius for not doing so.

Wilkins is regarded as the greatest Hawk of all-time and he deserves that claim on the franchise. Wilkins is one of the best players of the 1980s and 90s and has cemented himself as one of the best centers in the league’s history.

Wilkins at one point even averaged 30 points and nearly two steals per game. Wilkins’ offensive and defensive skills set him so far from other centers in comparison. Wilkins accolades are that he is a nine-time All-Star, seven-time All-NBA and the 1985 Scoring Champion.
