Paul Millsap

I don’t think Paul Millsap would come to Charlotte without a sizable offer, but he is the type of veteran this team needs.

He’s a battle-tested forward who has developed enough of a face-up game to age gracefully. This season with Denver he averaged a career-high 43 percent from three and 81 percent at the line.

He isn’t the post presence he once was though. His field goal percentage remains around 48 percent but his rebounding has dipped slightly as his game takes him away from the basket.

While his skills are declining, Millsap still provides some of the rebounding and defense this team needs.

Millsap will turn 36 years old this season and is coming off a contract that paid him $29 million last season. There’s no chance he commands anywhere near that on the market. Still the Hornets would have to overpay to bring him in. Odds are he seeks a team-friendly deal with a contender, aka Dwight Howard.
