As the NBA Draft continues to get closer, teams like the Charlotte Hornets are working out players. One special player got a surprise during his workout.

The NBA Draft is a week away, and teams like the Charlotte Hornets will have the chance to draft a player that will change their franchise. This year, the Hornets will be picking with the 3rd pick in the draft.

This year’s draft will be different for the Hornets, as they have not had a top-5 pick since the team drafted Cody Zeller in 2013. Originally, many predicted the Hornets to get the 7th pick, but with some luck on draft night, the team managed to get in the top-3.

One prospect that is on everyone’s draft boards is Anthony Edwards, a freshman out of the University of Georgia. Edwards had a lot of hype entering his first college season, in which he did not disappoint.

Edwards finished his freshman season at Georgia by averaging 19.1 points and 5.2 rebounds per game.

Recently, Edwards attended a workout for the Hornets, where he was greeted by a special guest. On November 11th, Edwards told the Charlotte Observer that Michael Jordan stopped by and visited him at his workout in Atlanta.

Edwards told the Charlotte Observer: “It was crazy that he came to the gym. It was just shocking! It was like, ‘That’s crazy, that’s Michael Jordan!'” Edwards also said that he had no contact with the Hornets before his workout day.

With his draft workout with the Hornets, Edwards was able to say that he had worked out with all of the top-3 lottery teams in the draft. Judging by Jordan’s visit, it should show fan how interested the Hornets may be in Edwards.

Fans can expect the Charlotte Hornets to be selecting a new franchise player soon with their pick. Expect the Hornets to be back in action in December.
