NBA trade season is right around the corner and following the NBA Draft, the Charlotte Hornets may look to trade Terry Rozier this offseason.

The Charlotte Hornets may look to trade for previous MVP Russell Westbrook since they are one of a few teams serious about acquiring the superstar. The Hornets are reportedly not putting their number three overall pick on the table as it is not available.

Swarm City is building an incredibly talented roster investing in the future players of Miles Bridges, Devonte’ Graham and PJ Washington. The team should be investing in the young core of the franchise and a trade this offseason can give the roster a veteran star and a playoff contention for this upcoming season.

The organization can possibly trade for Westbrook and continue to build for their young core for Charlotte’s future.

With a possibility of grabbing either Anthony Edwards or LaMelo Ball and Most Improved Player candidate Devonte’ Graham, the roster may have too many guards. With a mass of guards on the team, the organization may struggle to balance player minutes and Rozier may be one player to feel disgruntled.

While Terry Rozier may be able to come off the bench for the team if Charlotte decides to start Ball or Edwards and Graham at the two-guard, I doubt he will be content with a roleplayer position. With Rozier coming off of the best year of his career, it may be tough for him to take fewer minutes.

Should the Charlotte Hornets dangle Terry Rozier in trade packages?

Terry Rozier is a really talented player and on offense, he’s proving to be one of the better young players in the league. Rozier has been in the league for a few years but has really been shining for Charlotte.

Rozier has averaged 18 points while shooting 40 percent from behind the arc last season. Rozier also tallied four rebounds and four assists per contest. Rozier also ranked fourth(behind Seth Curry, JJ Redick and CJ McCollum) in efficiency for the catch-and-shoot on the perimeter.

Rozier is becoming fairly valuable within the league as a young player with an offensive upside. Rozier is also a pretty aggressive defender, which many teams want. Rozier struggles a little with playmaking but he is still pretty sound with his distance scoring.

The Hornets can likely get Westbrook without giving away the number three pick and Rozier should be the centerpiece in a Westbrook-Hornets trade. With the Rockets likely hitting the hard reset button, Rozier would be a good young piece to build around.

Rozier would be a great trade option to dangle in front of teams looking for a young point guard. The Hornets may even be able to get a few future picks, taking a page out of the Oklahoma City Thunders book.

Rozier is a valuable asset and if the Hornets can attain Westbrook without giving away all of their youth, then Rozier would be the centerpiece. Rozier is a major trade piece and should not be undersold this NBA trade season.
