Charlotte Hornets select LaMelo Ball with the #3 pick in NBA Draft
With the 3rd pick in the 2020 NBA Draft, the Charlotte Hornets have selected LaMelo Ball.
After a long wait, Charlotte Hornets fans have finally found out who the team drafted in the 2020 Draft. In this year’s draft, the Hornets went on to draft LaMelo Ball, a top prospect in this year’s draft.
With this pick, the Hornets now have a new star player that can join the team’s young roster that shows a lot of promise. Ball was projected to be a top-3 player in the draft this year.

During his 2019-20 season with Australia’s Illawarra team, Ball managed to average 17.0 points, 6.8 assists, and 7.6 rebounds per game. He proved to be one of the best players in the NBA Austrailia league
Prior to the Draft, Michael Jordan gave the front office the stamp of approval to select Ball with the 3rd pick. Jordan’s confidence in Ball could foreshadow what his role on the team will be moving forward.
Ball has the ability to play point guard, shooting guard, and small forward, which makes him a very versatile player. Based on this season, fans got a glimpse of Coach Borrego’s many lineup combinations.
Even though the Hornets had a major need at the center position, the team managed to get a high-energy player with their pick. With this pick, the Hornets will need to find out what they will do with their starting lineup.
