Jalen Smith. 14. player. Pick Analysis. PF. University of Maryland. 439. Scouting Report

Jalen Smith is an incredible defensive talent coming into this year’s NBA Draft.  Smith wS an All-Big Ten player and an All-Big Ten Defensive player. Smith is great on the boards and can be a defense piece on the Celtics game.

Jalen Smith averaged 15 points and ten rebounds per contest and rebounding is something that Boston struggles with. Smith averaged two and a half blocks per game as he dominated inside as a rim protector. Smith is agile and has a smooth touch around the rim.

If the Boston Celtics don’t trade this pick, I can see them adding another power forward to the roster. Robert Williams has been great so far for the Celtics and has shown a lot of potential but he’ll likely be a piece of a Gordon Hayward trade. Smith isn’t as athletic as Williams but is still a great option at the number 14 pick.
