So this pick is vital for the Hornets to finally end the rebuild in Charlotte. Okongwu is a really talented big and did really well freshman season. The Hornets are really high on a bunch of prospects but I think they like Okongwu more than Wiseman, especially to solve the big-man problem for Charlotte.

While I’d like to see LaMelo Ball’s jersey all across Charlotte, it doesn’t seem likely since both Terry Rozier and Devonte’ Graham are likely to start as a young backcourt. Wiseman is more of a risk than Okongwu since he played so little in college. The Hornets recently had Okongwu at a pre-draft workout and apparently really was impressed by his skill.

Okongwu averaged 16 points and eight boards per game with the Trojans. Okongwu did really well in his debut season, he even made All-Pac 12. Okongwu is really athletic and has a lot of potential standing at six feet nine inches.

The Hornets have quite a few options with their premium pick so whoever they pick will be a good talent for the future of their organization.
