Pursuing Aron Baynes in the free agency could give Ball the pick-and-roll specialist he needs.

Aron Baynes was one of the most slept-on players in the NBA last season and absolutely balled out for the Suns. Baynes was a major presence on both sides of the ball in Phoenix and is such a great player.

Baynes is a seasoned veteran and could make a difference for the Charlotte Hornets this upcoming season. Baynes averaged a career-high of 11 points per game last year, but let’s not forget the insane tear that this guy had at the very beginning of the season. Baynes is also one of two players to record ten rebounds and more than six three’s made, and Baynes made nine! Baynes is the franchise leader in three’s in a single game as of right now, which is so crazy to imagine.

Baynes is very eligible for a mid-level contract and the Hornets can give him one without destroying their cap space. His experience allows him to be a mentor for the Duke alum, Vernon Carey.

Baynes will also be a great piece to grab for LaMelo. Baynes is really good at the pick-and-roll and clearly showed that he has the ability to stretch the floor and shoot from the perimeter. Baynes could field passes very well and draw contact within the paint, bringing in more points at the charity stripe.

With Ayton seemingly becoming the starter in Phoenix, I doubt that he signs back with the Suns and could contribute to a competitive Charlotte Hornets organization.
