Charlotte Hornets: Three Matchups to Look Forward to in 2021
By Emmett Ball
Charlotte Hornets @ Atlanta Hawks, January 6th
The Southeast Division has had a lot more buzz lately largely because of the acquisition of Russell Westbrook to Washington, the Heat’s finals appearance in the bubble, and certainly the upcoming of Atlanta Hawks point guard Trae Young.
Trae Young was traded to the Hawks in the 2018 NBA draft and has since worked out great for them. This is a team that has found its star of the future, as Trae Young found himself as an NBA All-Star just his second season in the league.
The Hawks also have some great offensive and defensive skilled young assets along with Young such as DeAndre Hunter, Cam Reddish, and John Collins. They also acquired some valuable veterans this offseason with Danilo Gallinari, Rajon Rondo, and Bogdan Bogdanovic.
It is clear that the Hawks are looking to make a push for the playoffs, and look to take that next step with their young talents. The Hornets are young and looking to make a push in the East as well.
The Hawks are a very good offensive team this season, which will certainly test the defensive side of the basketball for Charlotte and should be a very exciting matchup between these teams for years to come.
