Devonte’ Graham’s struggles on the court could result in him losing his starting spot, but regardless, he needs to turn his game around.

Devonte’ Graham has been struggling in the early parts of the Charlotte Hornets season and he may not like the solution the franchise may come up with.

Since the drafting of Australian superstar LaMelo Ball, the league has practically known that Ball would secure himself a starting spot sometime during the season. Regardless of his skill, he is a household name within the basketball community and the idea of him riding the bench all year is quite ludicrous.

LaMelo Ball is going to be starting at the point guard position before the end of the season, the question for most Hornets fans is who will start at the shooting guard position. Ball is still coming off of the bench but his production on the court clearly shows that he should become a starter by the end of Charlotte’s season.

The race for the other starting guard is still between Terry Rozier and Devonte’ Graham. The battle for the starting shooting guard position is still going on but it’s so hard to ignore Terry Rozier’s offensively efficiency. Graham may have been a Most Improved candidate last season but this season has been a struggle for Graham.

The battle between Terry Rozier and Devonte’ Graham has to be nearly finished though, look at Scary Terry Rozier’s stats this year. Rozier is averaging a career-high with 21 points per game, shooting 48 percent from the field. On top of the fact that Rozier was one of the best catch-and-shoot players from behind the arch, he is continuously improving his ball-handling and shot selection. By many, Rozier was considered to be the clear cut sixth man option, but after his stellar start this season and Graham’s subpar one, the tides have shifted.

Now Devonte’ Graham is still a valued member of the Charlotte Hornets and should still be considered as a young talent but his struggles could send him in a second rotation. Malik Monk has experienced the same minute’s rotation after subpar seasons within the last few years. Graham is still a great shooter and after he works through his shooting struggles, he will still be a major part of the franchise but that may be coming off of the bench.

I hope that Devonte’s shooting struggles come to an abrupt stop but at this point, it’s quite clear that the starting tandem in Charlotte should be between Terry Rozier and LaMelo Ball.
