The Charlotte Hornets may have come out with a win on Friday night in New Orleans, but is the team’s chemistry still intact?

Many may not have seen post-game reactions from the players, but two players, Charlotte Hornets, looked like they did not want to talk to one another. Following the game, LaMelo Ball swatted away Bismack Biyombo.

In the Hornets’ win, Ball finished with 12 points, 10 rebounds, and nine assists. He was one assist short of his first career triple-double, but he did manage to finish with the first double-double of his career.

However, Ball may have made a mistake at the end when he was trying to get his last assist during the final minute of the game. Ball looked to have had an open shot, but he passed the ball to Miles Bridges with one second left on the shot-clock.

Many suggested that Biyombo and Ball may have been playing at the end, but others speculate that Ball ignored Biyombo when he was trying to talk to him about stat-chasing.

Coach Borrego said this in the past about the two: “It’s so funny. I look in huddles sometimes, or I’m looking, showing a film, and those two are hugging behind me, arms around each other.”

Others on the Hornets have stated that the two have a close relationship. When Ball was asked about his bond with Biyombo in the past, he said, “It’s like a big brother, so it’s a blessing.”

Ball is currently averaging 11.8 points, 5.3 assists, and 5.7 rebounds per game. He looks like an early top-candidate for the Rookie of the Year Award with his play so far.

The Hornets are set to take on the Atlanta Hawks for the second time this season on Saturday night. Charlotte will need whatever happened between Ball and Biyombo to stay in the past.
